Manny Algarin

Educational Technology Leadership Doctoral Student 

Manuel "Manny" Algarin has been in education since 2010 serving as a middle school teacher, administrator, and instructional coach. He is driven by a vision that one day all students will have equitable and equal access to engaging, rigorous, joyful, and meaningful instruction that empowers and prepares all members of school communities to thrive academically, personally, and socially now and in the future. His mission is to facilitate conditions that coordinate change towards a more just educational system.

Manny has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Philosophy. He earned teacher certifications in Elementary School with Subject Matter Specialization: Language Arts/Literacy Specialization (5 - 8) and Elementary School Teacher (K - 6). He has a Masters in Education degree with a specialization in out of school time leadership. He is currently a doctoral student in New Jersey City University's Educational Technology Leadership program. Most of his research is focused on student centeredness, technology integration, and the digital divide.
